
All 48 countries competing at the 2026 World Cup have confirmed their 26-man squads for the tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The expanded finals will run from 11 June to 19 July and feature 12 groups.
The tournament will be the biggest edition of the World Cup, with established contenders, returning stars and debutants now locked into their group-stage paths.
Group A To D Set The Early Squad Picture
Group A includes Mexico, South Africa, South Korea and the Czech Republic. Mexico have selected goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa for a sixth World Cup, while South Africa have named Burnley striker Lyle Foster. South Korea captain Son Heung-min has been picked for his fourth World Cup, and West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek is included in the Czech Republic squad.
Group B features Canada, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Qatar and Switzerland. Alphonso Davies is part of what has been described as Canada’s “best ever” squad, while Edin Dzeko is set to join the list of World Cup 40-year-olds with Bosnia-Herzegovina. Qatar have included Almoez Ali, and Granit Xhaka has made Switzerland’s squad for a fourth World Cup.
Brazil, Morocco, Haiti and Scotland make up Group C. Neymar has been included in Brazil’s 26-man squad, Achraf Hakimi has been named by Morocco despite injury, Haiti have selected Wilson Isidor and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, and Scotland have included Stewart and Curtis.
Group D brings together the United States, Paraguay, Australia and Turkey. Tyler Adams and Antonee Robinson are in the United States squad, Paraguay have named Omar Alderete and Gustavo Gomez, Australia have selected uncapped players Yengi and Volpato, and Turkey have included Arda Guler, Caglar Soyuncu and Hakan Calhanoglu.
Germany, Spain And France Include Major Names
Germany headline Group E, with Manuel Neuer, now 40, coming out of retirement to be first-choice goalkeeper. Curacao, the smallest nation in the tournament, have named their debut World Cup squad. Ivory Coast have omitted Wilfried Zaha, while Ecuador have included Sunderland’s Jose Angulo.
Group F contains the Netherlands, Japan, Sweden and Tunisia. Premier League players dominate the Dutch squad, Japan have left out injured Kaoru Mitoma, Sweden have named Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyokeres, and Tunisia have left out Ferjani Sassi.
Belgium, Egypt, Iran and New Zealand form Group G. Romelu Lukaku has been included in Belgium’s squad despite concerns over his shape, while Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush have been named by Egypt. Iran have left out Sardar Azmoun, and New Zealand have included Braintree’s Smith alongside Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood.
Group H includes Spain, Cape Verde, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay. Lamine Yamal has been selected by Spain despite injury, but no Real Madrid players are included. Cape Verde have named Shamrock’s Lopes, Saudi Arabia’s Saud Abdulhamid is their only overseas player, and Uruguay have selected Manchester United midfielder Manuel Ugarte but left out veteran Luis Suarez.
Messi, Ronaldo And Mbappe Lead Star-Heavy Groups
France, Senegal, Iraq and Norway are in Group I. Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele lead the France squad, Sadio Mane has been named by Senegal, Ali Al-Hamadi and Zidane Iqbal are in Iraq’s squad, and Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard headline Norway’s list.
Group J includes Argentina, Algeria, Austria and Jordan. Lionel Messi is set to represent Argentina at a sixth World Cup, Zidane has been called up by Algeria, Marko Arnautovic is in Austria’s squad, and Mousa Al-Tamari has been named for Jordan’s World Cup debut.
Portugal, DR Congo, Uzbekistan and Colombia make up Group K. Cristiano Ronaldo is set for a record sixth World Cup, while DR Congo have named Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Yoane Wissa. Uzbekistan have included Abdukodir Khusanov, and James Rodriguez is in Colombia’s squad after illness.
Group L features England, Croatia, Ghana and Panama. England have left out Phil Foden, Cole Palmer and Trent Alexander-Arnold, while Croatia have named 40-year-old Luka Modric. Thomas Partey is in Ghana’s World Cup squad, and Norwich’s Cordoba has been selected by Panama.
With every squad now confirmed, the 2026 World Cup has moved from qualification and selection debate into tournament preparation. The final lists have also set up several major individual storylines, from sixth World Cup appearances for Messi, Ronaldo and Ochoa to debut campaigns for nations such as Curacao and Jordan.
